Illustrated Book: YUE
On a bright and windless day of weekly worship, a young boy is finally old enough to accompany his parents to the village shrine.
The temple is solemn and ornate, crowded with orderly worshippers under the watchful eyes of the priests. Behind layers of delicate veils, he catches a glimpse of a seated figure: revered, prayed to, and addressed only as the Divine Messenger.
When he asks who it is, he is told to lower his head and pray, not to question what should not be questioned.
But the image lingers.
That night, unable to suppress his curiosity, the boy slips out of his home and walks toward the shrine alone, and unknowingly steps into the beginning of his fate.
